But there’s another storyline hanging over the whole season that we need to talk about. That is, of course, the development timeline of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. The Giants traded up from 34th overall to take Dart 25th overall, with the intention of developing him as their quarterback of the future.

Over the course of free agency and the draft, the Giants added Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and Jaxson Dart. There won’t, however, be a dramatic quarterback competition in training camp. The Giants have already said that Wilson — a former Super Bowl champion, All Pro, and 10-time Pro Bowl selection — will be their starter for 2025.

Brad Penner-Imagn Images New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr has announced his retirement from the NFL. Carr's status for the season had been in question dating back to the news that he required shoulder surgery prior to the draft. It was revealed Saturday that Carr suffered a labral tear and damage to his rotator cuff that is degenerative in nature, which prompted his retirement.

And while minicamp isn’t a great showcase for linemen, it was still our first opportunity to see players like third round pick Darius Alexander and third overall pick Abdul Carter on the field. They might not have participated in 7-on-7 drills, but they did get to work in individual drills.
