A data correction by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) has moved down propane and propylene inventories beyond analyst expectations for the week ended Dec. 22. For the first time since July this year, US propane and propylene inventories dropped below 85 million barrels, to 84.684 million barrels. The decrease marked a 10% inventory draw, according to the corrected EIA inventory, production and export data on Dec. 28.

Hydrogen power and generation company AFC Energy PLC (Cranleigh, UK) has launched its ammonia-to-hydrogen cracker demonstration plant in the UK, to produce 400 kilograms per day (140 metric tons per year) of fuel-cell-grade hydrogen, the company said in a statement Dec. 4. AFC designed, built and commissioned the plant over the course of 2023, with first production in the past week, from what the company said is the world’s largest demonstration project operating to date.
