Cherokee County commissioners are considering increasing the county's hotel and motel tax rate by 2%, which if approved could lead to over $200,000 more in estimated revenue for the county. On June 3, the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to set a public hearing on June 17 to hear from the public about whether to increase the county's hotel-motel tax rate from 6% to 8%. Gov. Brian Kemp signed House Bill 755 to raise Cherokee County’s hotel-motel taxes by 2%, up to 8%.

Two warehouse buildings are coming to southwest Cherokee County, near Cherokee 75 Corporate Park. On June 3, the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a request from SDP Acquisitions, LLC to rezone a little over 38 acres from general commercial to light industrial to build two warehouse buildings. The warehouses will be built on 5889 Old Alabama Road and 2737 Highway 92 near Acworth, in southwest Cherokee.

Cherokee County and Woodstock are working together to extend the sidewalk along Arnold Mill Road to allow for better pedestrian access to and from the elementary school there. On June 3, the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved an intergovernmental agreement with Woodstock to extend the sidewalk on Arnold Mill Road.

Intersection and sidewalk improvements are coming to Steels Bridge Road in southwest Cherokee County. On June 3, the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to award a $361,250 construction services agreement to Backbone Infrastructure, LLC for construction of the Steels Bridge sidewalk project. Steels Bridge Road is a two-lane roadway that runs between Bridgemill Avenue and Bells Ferry Road.
