Early risers will be able to catch a celestial “smiley face” in the eastern predawn sky Friday morning, as Venus and Saturn align themselves with a skinny crescent moon to form a slightly off-kilter cosmic emoji in the hours before sunrise. The triple conjunction will be visible near the horizon starting just before sunrise, across Canada.

A Venezuelan man reportedly took a wrong turn onto the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit, crossing into Canada, and was then allegedly detained and deported to El Salvador when he tried to return to U.S. soil. Ricardo Prada Vásquez, a 32-year-old Venezuelan immigrant legally residing in the U.S., was working as a delivery driver in January in Detroit and had picked up an order at McDonald’s when he made the wrong turn, according to the New York Times, which first published the report.

On Tuesday, the Tennessee Board of Parole unanimously recommended a pardon for the rapper-turned-country music performer, who holds a long rap sheet from days gone by. Firefighters are still battling a fast-moving wildfire that has burned more than 11,500 acres in southern New Jersey since Tuesday and prompted more than 3,000 evacuations, while briefly shutting down part of the Garden State Parkway, one of the state’s busiest highways.
