A cyclist has died after reports of a collision with a vehicle in the intersection of Highway 3 (Central Avenue) and Boundary Drive just after 3pm this afternoon, April 17. Grand Forks RCMP say the cyclist received life threatening injuries and was quickly assisted by bystanders performing CPR. He was then transported to the local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

The Grand Forks Fire Rescue Service is urging residents to exercise caution when conducting any burning this spring, following a recent fire incident just outside of city limits. Deputy Fire Chief Mike Daloise says a property east of Grand Forks was conducting a burn on Sunday when wind caused the blaze to get carried away.
