Daventry Express

Daventry Express

The Daventry Express is a weekly newspaper that caters to Daventry and nearby villages, releasing a new edition every Thursday. It boasts a circulation of 7,500 copies and is part of Johnston Press. Originally founded in 1869 by Thomas and John William Barrett, the Daventry Express was initially published on Saturdays. The newspaper faced a halt in 1940 due to a nationwide paper shortage, but it made a comeback in 1948 under the name Daventry and District Weekly Express. In 1966, the title was shortened to Daventry Weekly Express, and finally, in 1990, it became known as the Daventry Express.
