    Through the magic of YouTube’s recommendation algorithm, it gave a flyer and suggested the above video to me. It’s a quick recap of the vast majority of the Komoot team throwing one last party, after being told they don’t have jobs. As you may remember from about two months ago, Komoot was sold to Bending Spoons, an Italian investment company. Both my discussions with people familiar with the deal, and others elsewhere, have put the sale price at about €300m.

    Just a quick heads up that I’ve published my complete guide for the Forerunner 970, diving into not just all the new features, but of course the watch as a whole. If you’re coming from either older Garmin watches, or other watches algother, this would get you quickly up to speed. Or, if you’ve got something like a Fenix 8 or Enduro 3, you could look at the new feature sections (mostly running features) to understand how those will likely look when they land on your watch.

    It’s been almost exactly two months since Garmin announced Garmin Connect+, the sparkle-anointed subscription platform that adds a handful of additional features to your Garmin Connect experience (both on desktop and mobile). At launch, as I noted, it didn’t seem to offer a strong enough value proposition, at least to me and my needs. But Garmin said to give it time, as it would soon expand it, and improve components like the AI insights. Thus today marks the next new subscription feature: Trails.
