Established in 1944, the Telegram Newspaper has been in operation for decades without interruption. J. C. Wall, who sadly passed away in July 1997, was the publisher for more than 50 years. After his passing, Mr. Ben Wade took over and kept the Telegram running until May 2006.

There are likely people in our community who can recall having been taught by Mrs. Weslyn A. Bennett in the Inkster School District. Bennett, who moved to Inkster with her husband in 1943, had obtained her teaching certification from Stowe Teachers College and taught in Inkster Schools, later earning both a bachelor's and master's degrees from Eastern Michigan University. A well-loved and respected educator, Bennett retired in 1976.
