Established in 1944, the Telegram Newspaper has been in operation for decades without interruption. J. C. Wall, who sadly passed away in July 1997, was the publisher for more than 50 years. After his passing, Mr. Ben Wade took over and kept the Telegram running until May 2006.

Next week, Mexican communities in Metro Detroit will celebrate Cinco de Mayo, a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican war. In the United States, the day celebrates Mexican culture and heritage, complete with food, music, and dancing. Celebrations will take place throughout the weekend of May 3 and 4, but the official day of festivity will fall on Monday, May 5.

There are likely people in our community who can recall having been taught by Mrs. Weslyn A. Bennett in the Inkster School District. Bennett, who moved to Inkster with her husband in 1943, had obtained her teaching certification from Stowe Teachers College and taught in Inkster Schools, later earning both a bachelor's and master's degrees from Eastern Michigan University. A well-loved and respected educator, Bennett retired in 1976.

This year the service was held at Pentecost Missionary Baptist Church in Romulus on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Judges from across the State spent their afternoon with people from the City of Romulus and other surrounding communities. Judge Lisa Martin from the 34th District Court serves as President of the ABJM.
