Moose Jaw-Swift Current employment rates holding steady

Employment rates in the Moose Jaw–Swift Current region remained relatively steady in April compared to the same time last year. According to Statistics Canada, the region recorded 52,000 people employed last month out of a labour force of about 55,100, for an employment rate of 59.8 per cent. All statistics are based on a three-month moving average and are not seasonally adjusted. The area’s unemployment rate was 5.6 per cent, the same rate recorded in April 2023.

Council passes zoning bylaw amendment tied to federal funding

Charges laid after stabbing on Stadacona Street

A 43-year-old man is facing charges after a stabbing on the 1200 block of Stadacona Street West on Sunday. The Moose Jaw Police Service responded to a reported break and enter at around 8:15 a.m. Officers located a person who had suffered multiple stab wounds. The victim was taken to hospital and is currently in stable condition, according to police. Police say the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
