    BY TED SHOCKLEY, Eastern Shore Post —Northampton County is getting its own FM radio station — complete with an Exmore broadcast tower, a lighthouse logo, and a name that zeroes in on Cape Charles. The station, 96.9 The Cape, will begin broadcasting at noon on Saturday, Feb. 1. But Mike Szczechura, the sales manager of the station, WCCZ, said the station’s weekday radio personalities will debut on Monday, Feb. 3.

    BY JANET BERNOSKY, Eastern Shore Post —Pocomoke Mayor Todd J. Nock used a city-owned vehicle to travel on Jan. 3 to the Washington, D.C. installation ceremony of Maryland’s newest U.S. senator before driving north of Baltimore to visit family and spend the night. Nock returned the city vehicle to Pocomoke the next day after attending a Baltimore Ravens NFL football game, but Nock said he did not use the vehicle to get to the game.

    Mr. John “Jack” Jacob Troutman IIpassed away peacefully New Year’s Eve with his wife, Gail, at his side. Jack was born to John and Isobel Troutman in Oil City, Pa., in 1949.He grew up in Everett, Pa., and graduated from Everett Area High School in 1967. He graduated from Penn State University in 1971 with a degree in aerospace engineering.

    Lucas Allen Fussell, 42, of Onley, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Dec. 18, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to two counts of distribution of child pornography. Judge Rudolph Contreras scheduled a sentencing hearing for May 6. According to court papers, between Dec. 20, 2023, and Feb.

    Mrs. Kathryn W. Woodall, 74, died on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at Walter Reed Convalescent Home. Born in September 1950, she was a daughter of the late Dolly W. DeBoodt and stepfather, Julius A. DeBoodt, and the foster child of the late Ann S. and Arthur A. Bays. Kathy graduated from Bayside High School in Virginia Beach in 1968 and later attended Eastern Shore and Thomas Nelson community colleges.
