Launched in 1978, the Edmonton Sun shares similarities with other tabloids from Sun Media, focusing heavily on local news, maintaining a conservative viewpoint, providing comprehensive sports reporting, and featuring the daily Sunshine Girl. Each year, the newspaper also releases a special swimsuit edition, and during the holiday season, a festive lingerie edition is published.
