    Nampo’s airstrip has become renowned for the sheer volume that this tiny, grass covered airstrip handles each year. Last year a total of 200 aeroplanes and 75 helicopters landed during the four-day event, each carrying on average between four and six people. On 16 May 2019, Nampo reached a record for the most aircraft landed at Nampo, totalling 190 aeroplanes and 47 helicopters that all landed within three hours.

Vox Weather meteorologist Michelle Cordier told Farmer’s Weekly that there was no reason farmers needed to miss Nampo in order to catch up on harvesting since these conditions were expected to last.
