La pandemia de COVID-19 puso de manifiesto la vulnerabilidad de las personas mayores que ingresan en centros sociosanitarios. Esta vulnerabilidad se acrecienta cuando la vida se desarrolla en un entorno carente de garantías para llevar una vida digna. Las investigaciones cualitativas acreditan que las residencias de personas mayores en España tienen serios problemas estructurales y escasez de personal cualificado, tanto social como sanitario, escasa formación de ese personal y pocas inspecciones.
