Gold Derby

Gold Derby

Gold Derby, the original awards platform in Hollywood, was established in 2000 by Tom O’Neil, a renowned expert in awards and the author of notable books like “Movie Awards,” “The Emmys,” and “The Grammys” (published by Penguin Putnam). In 2005, the site was licensed to the Los Angeles Times and became part of their new awards initiative, TheEnvelope, where Gold Derby transformed into a blog and its message boards found a new home. In November 2010, O’Neil regained ownership of Gold Derby and relaunched it as an independent site, separate from the Times. By July 2015, Gold Derby was acquired by Penske Media Corporation, which also owns Variety, Deadline, TV Line, and WWD.

Now, Ironheart is seeking to keep that momentum going on Disney+ as the studio gears up for The Fantastic Four: First Steps at the end of July.

Simone Ashley was ready for her close-up at the London premiere of F1: The Movie on Monday night. The breakout Bridgerton star walked a red carpet shared by F1 leads Brad Pitt, Damson Idris and Kerry Condon, as well as famous guests like Tom Cruise, Naomi Campbell, and Patrick Schwarzenegger. But inside the theater was a different story. Last week, news broke that Ashley had been largely edited out of the Joseph Kosinski-directed, Jerry Bruckheimer-produced film.

During her storied multi-decade tenure at ABC News, Barbara Walters could always be trusted to book the high-profile interviews — and secure the exclusive scoops — that few other journalists could get. Alas, poor Elio — we knew you... kind of. Pixar's latest original animated feature failed to soar to galactic box-office heights during its opening weekend, instead falling back to Earth with the lowest bow in the studio's history. The sci-fi family comedy barely cleared the $20 million hurdle, landing at $21 million behind the $30 million posted by Danny Boyle's zombie picture 28 Years Later and the $37 million nabbed by last week's repeat champ, How to Train Your Dragon.
