Established on April 14, 1869, the Herald-Banner holds the title of the longest-running business in Hunt County. Originally named the Greenville Herald and created by John C. Bayne, the publication underwent a significant change nearly a hundred years later when it combined with the Greenville Evening Banner, adopting the name Greenville Herald-Banner.

Former Greenville defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers shared his love of football with more than 250 campers at the fifth annual John Franklin-Myers Football Camp in Greenville. The campers practiced inside the Roy Q. Traylor Athletic Complex this time as the artificial turf and eight-lane track are being refurbished at T.A. “Cotton” Ford Stadium. Franklin-Myers, with the aid of some Greenville coaches, friends and former teammates coached the athletes in two camps.

During part of the football camp on Friday night in Greenville, the high school offensive and defensive linemen lifted weights in the newly refurbished John Franklin-Myers Performance Center that is powered by Freedom Ford-GMC. Franklin donated a significant amount of money to re-equip the weights in the weight room as did general manager J.P. Salcido of Freedom Ford-GMC.
