Santa Cruz, Calif. – The three major warehouse club retailers saw a pop in store visits during the first quarter, while Walmart and Target experienced declines in foot traffic. Among the group of five clubs and supercenters tracked by Placer.ai, Costco came out on top, with store visits up 6.1% for the period of January through March. Its membership warehouse competitors also experienced year-over-year traffic gains during the period, with BJ’s Whole Club up 4.0% and Sam’s Club up 2.7%.

In addition to the expanded credit facility, the companies have entered into a purchase agreement providing for the future sale of Kirkland’s intellectual property to Beyond, subject to senior lender approvals.
