Santa Cruz, Calif. – The three major warehouse club retailers saw a pop in store visits during the first quarter, while Walmart and Target experienced declines in foot traffic. Among the group of five clubs and supercenters tracked by Placer.ai, Costco came out on top, with store visits up 6.1% for the period of January through March. Its membership warehouse competitors also experienced year-over-year traffic gains during the period, with BJ’s Whole Club up 4.0% and Sam’s Club up 2.7%.

CERNOBBIO, Italy – Proposte will stick with its May timing in 2026 and has extended its venue contract through 2028. Next year’s expo for furnishing fabrics, curtains, trimmings and wallcoverings will take place from May 5-7 and will return to its long-time home at Villa Erba exhibition and trade center. At the close of the 32nd annual edition last week, Proposte also announced its new president: Marco Parravicini, CEO of Parà, a historical textile company now in its third generation.

The off-price home décor retail is teaming with award-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson on the sweepstakes promotion, Finding Time Off (FTO). The theme resulted from a recent survey HomeGoods commissioned, which found the 85% of Americans want to make time for things that spark happiness, but only 26% are satisfied with their current routine.
