A Parker man has been charged with animal cruelty, after police say he left seven puppies in a taped moving box at the Western Arizona Humane Society, without food or water. Officers were called April 4 to the humane society’s 2610 Sweetwater Ave. facility, after employees reported finding the box of puppies near the organization’s donation shed. And those events began last week with the 3rd Annual Super Cat Fest West exhibition. According to event organizer Dave Johnson, commonly known to Havasu residents as “River Dave,” Super Cat Fest West raised about $142,000 through its charity auction, with an additional $200,000 matched by California paving company RJ Noble.
