State and federal officials recently announced sweeping fire restrictions throughout Western Arizona, and the county ratified its own restrictions on fireworks Monday. But those restrictions won’t apply to America’s birthday on unincorporated areas of the county. The county applied its fire restrictions on May 23 under recommendation from the Mohave County Risk and Emergency Management Department; citing prolonged drought conditions, sustained winds and elevated wildfire risk factors.

But earlier this year, police say he hatched an unusual scheme to supplement his income. Under federal law, Lake Havasu City resident William Currano is prohibited from earning more than $25,000 per year by means of employment, while receiving social security payments.

A Lake Havasu City man is facing felony DUI charges after police say his vehicle left the roadway while speeding, before crashing into a road sign and multiple city park benches at Wheeler Park. The accident took place shortly after midnight on Sunday, when witnesses contacted emergency dispatchers in reference to a vehicle accident resulting in injuries. Lake Havasu Police and paramedics arrived at the scene soon after, where officers allegedly found 24-year-old Angelo A.

A Lake Havasu City man accused of causing permanent injury to an infant could plead guilty next week, under an agreement offered by the Mohave County Attorney’s Office. Anthony S. Eldridge, 31, has awaited trial in the case since last May, when emergency first responders were called to his home on the 2700 block of Daytona Avenue in reference to a child who was unconscious and not breathing.
