    NEW WINDSOR – Two New Jersey man, whose company was involved with the demolition and removal of debris from the former Destinta Movie Theater lot at 214 Quassaick Avenue in New Windsor have been arrested. Town Supervisor Steve Bedetti said Gary DiGiovanni, 61, of Ringoes, NJ was arrested by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office and Dean Buncombe, 45, of Harrrington Park, NJ, who were involved with the contracted removal of C&D material, were found to be dumping truckloads of materials.

    BEACON – The fire that destroyed a house at 9 Alice Street in the City of Beacon and claimed one life remains under investigation. The fire claimed the life of Eugene (Gene) Murphy, 81, a 30-year employee of city highway department and was a supervisor in the agency. Three other people were injured in the blaze that was reported just before 6:30 Tuesday evening. The two-alarm blaze that brought out several area fire departments, tore through the two-story building.
