After multiple teases throughout the show (including a fake-out where it was hinted that the game wasn’t ready to show yet), Resident Evil 9 (officially called Resident Evil: Requiem) was announced at Summer Game Fest, with a release date that’s way sooner than we would have expected: February 27, 2026. Atomic Heart 2 was revealed at today’s Summer Games Fest event, unsurprisingly, as the sequel to Atomic Heart, an alternate-history science-fiction first-person shooter released in 2023. The game is set in a retro-futuristic version of an alternate Soviet Union in the 1950s, as society collapses under the weight of a robot uprising. In our review, we complimented the set-piece action that the first game delivered, and it seems likely that the second title will deliver even more of that.
