Patients in Herefordshire have benefitted from a new cataract pathway that offered treatment in a timelier fashion within the community. The Border Health Alliance (BHA) was formed to tackle long NHS waiting times that were exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Darren Smith, optometrist and director at the BHA, told Optician: ‘Herefordshire’s always had a very good relationship between community optometry and trust ophthalmology.
