PETA

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) stands as the largest animal rights organization globally, boasting a membership of over 6.5 million individuals and supporters. PETA directs its efforts toward four key areas where animals endure significant suffering for extended periods: laboratories, the food industry, the clothing sector, and entertainment. Additionally, the organization addresses various other concerns, including the inhumane treatment of rodents, birds, and other animals often labeled as “pests,” as well as the mistreatment of domesticated pets. The organization's activities include public awareness campaigns, investigations into cruelty, research initiatives, animal rescue operations, legislative advocacy, special events, celebrity engagement, and protest actions. Founded in 1993, the PETA Foundation supports PETA's operations and comprises departments such as IT, Development, and Interactive Media. Although PETA and the PETA Foundation operate as distinct entities, they collaborate closely on their mission.
