PEQUOT LAKES — Referred to as "a true leader and an amazing teacher” by those who nominated her, Katrina Moody was recognized as the 2025 Education Minnesota-Pequot Lakes Teacher of the Year. Moody teaches math at Pequot Lakes High School and has been with the Pequot Lakes School District since 2017. Moody and others were recognized Wednesday, May 21, at the Pequot Lakes School District's Employee Recognition Celebration at Breezy Point Resort.

BREEZY POINT — After months of searching, Allie Polsfuss will begin serving as Breezy Point’s city administrator next month. The Breezy Point City Council approved a contract for Polsfuss at its regular meeting Monday, June 2. Polsfuss, assistant city administrator for Minnetrista, along with Kari Carlson and Joshua Wilson, interviewed with the council and city staff for the position on Wednesday, May 14.

Anita Louise Groat (Howes), of Merrifield, MN, passed peacefully on to eternal life on May 19, 2025, at age 82. She was born in Round Lake, IL, to June and Orville Howes. She met the love of her life, Patrick (deceased), who married and had two sons, Shawn, and Robert (deceased). They vacationed in Minnesota before relocating here. Together they enjoyed the cabin life, fishing, and being together.
