BACKUS — While considering new hangars at the Backus Municipal Airport, the Backus City Council was informed that zoning in that area does not currently include airport hangars as an allowable use. The city's zoning administrators at Sourcewell said the current hangars are grandfathered in, and therefore allowed in the "Public" zone due to their age. New construction, however, would not be allowed as the ordinance sits.

This morning when I was getting photos at the area polling places someone said, "I think it's a big choice. I think it's an easy choice for me, personally." Did you feel that way? Not only about the presidential election, but also local offices? @PAL_EchoJournal

When I was out and about this morning, all the parking lots at the polling places were full of cars. It turns out it was even more crazy in Crosslake. Don't miss today's big event. It'll be one of those events you might regret not going to. @PAL_EchoJournal https://t.co/m0FeAVNU4U

You have to get out and vote today. No question, you don't want to be left out. I've never seen crowds like this at our local polling places. I don't mean in this picture specifically. You'd have to stop by a polling place to know what I mean. https://t.co/69MPywMkJk
