    Benidorm, Spain — Europur President Bart ten Brink says the polyurethane industry should be an industrial powerhouse, but it's facing multiple stress points. The industry group's annual meeting is being held in the Spanish resort of Benidorm, and ten Brink described Spain as a strong partner in the PU sector. As well as being Europe’s fifth-largest chemical producer, with Portugal it’s the third largest producer of slabstock foam, he said, exporting across Europe, North Africa and beyond.

    Transcendia Inc., a film maker and converter, will close a production site in Illinois and relocate the company's headquarters. The Franklin, Park, Ill.-based company said the moves will take place by the end of this year. Transcendia will shutter a production plant and company headquarters in Franklin Park, moving manufacturing to the company's Richmond, Ind., plant. Headquarters for the company also will move to a new building, but the company did not indicate where in a June 3 announcement.
