North American prices for polypropylene and polystyrene resins moved in different directions in March, with PP prices dropping while PS prices increased. PP prices were down an average of 4 cents per pound in March after being up by that same amount in February. Prices for the material had increased 5 cents in January. Price changes for PP again followed movements in price for polymer-grade propylene feedstock, but were influenced by larger macroeconomic factors as well.

Private equity firm Atlas Holdings has united Rehau Automotive and SRG Global Inc. into RESRG Automotive, a manufacturer with sales that could top $1 billion in North America. Troy, Mich.-based RESRG — pronounced "resurge" — will be a global supplier of coated exterior systems and components to automakers, officials said in a news release. Greenwich, Conn.-based Atlas had announced its acquisitions of SRG and Rehau Automotive in October. Rehau Group will continue to hold a minority stake in RESRG.
