    In my dreams I have a blue-green flat-woven rug by one of Scandinavia’s iconic textile designers. An original by Ingegerd Silow, Marianne Richter, Maja Andersson-Wirde, Barbro Nilsson, Judith Johansson, and other pioneering women? Priceless (but, actually, way out of my price range). Funny enough, I recently noticed a similar offering at Anthropologie, without the backstory but at a fraction of the price.

Muted, earthy, and serene, the newly renovated 1940s roadside motel in the high desert, “amidst the blooming ocotillo and palo verde trees,” is filled with considered, artist-made details like that.
