    FATE — To keep the city’s sex offender residency exclusion map current, the Fate City Council on Monday added two new housing developments. The council approved its current 2,000-foot residency exclusion map in December 2024 but since then, additional developments have opened that city officials identify as “places where children commonly gather.”“The map doesn’t reflect any change in policy,” a staff member with Fate’s planning and development department told the council.

    The fifth annual John Franklin-Myers Football Camp is set for this weekend in Greenville but with a twist. It’s a free camp for offensive and defensive linemen on Friday for grades 9-12. The camp hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. with registration at 5 p.m.There’s also free camp for grades first through eight from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday with registration at 8 a.m. The campers won’t be practicing this time on the turf at T.A. “Cotton” Ford Stadium.
