The Herald-Banner, recognized as the oldest business in Hunt County, was established on April 14, 1869, by John C. Bayne under the name Greenville Herald. Nearly a hundred years later, it joined forces with the Greenville Evening Banner, resulting in its current name, the Greenville Herald-Banner.

Oh, I might get a bit despondent anticipating the hot weather ahead but spring means strutting gobblers and I have long been attracted to the turkey woods where each year I hope to bag a gobbler. There’s just something about hearing a big gobbler sounding off in response to my calling that keeps me coming back each year.
