Over the following 25 years, we expanded our portfolio with several other magazine titles, including the internationally recognized Unmanned Vehicles in the early 1990s. Additionally, we have developed a highly regarded series of market handbooks, solidifying our position in the industry.

    The Dutch Ministry of Defence has signed two contracts that will modernise its armed forces equipment. The MoD officially signed a contract with KNDS for 46 Leopard 2A8 Main Battle Tanks (MBT) and with AeroVironment for the additional procurement and upgrade of its Puma uncrewed aerial systems fleet. The news that the Netherlands was going to acquire Leopard 2A8 tanks was first disclosed in October 2024.

    The UK Royal Air Force’s Protector RG Mk1 programme has achieved two new milestones as part of its ongoing Test and Evaluation to field the first uncrewed aerial system (UAS) for the force. On 8 May it was announced that the Protector RG Mk1 had achieved a Military Type Certificate (MTC) from the UK’s Military Aviation Authority on 29 April.

    Helsing has unveiled a new Ai-enabled uncrewed, mass-producible underwater vessel to be used for surveillance missions. The glider vessel, named SG-1 Fathom, will be powered by a new AI software Lura. According to Helsing, the system will use autonomous mass that is scalable and affordable to detect subsurface threats. The SG-1 Fathom has a length of 1.95m and a weight of 60kg. It can also patrol underwater for up to three months to search for threats and is swarm-capable.

    The US State Department has cleared two possible Foreign Military Sales for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to buy six CH-47F Chinook Block II extended-range (ER) helicopters and supporting equipment for a cost of US$1.32 billion and F-16 sustainment for $130 million. The announcement came ahead of Trump’s tour of the Middle East this week, where possible defence procurements between the US and the UAE are in the line up to be discussed.
