Southside Sentinel

For more than 110 years, the Southside Sentinel has been a key publication for Middlesex County and the surrounding areas. It was originally launched on April 9, 1896, as the Mathews-Middlesex Herald by publisher and editor G. F. Palmer. He referred to it as a "weekly journal dedicated to the interests of Middlesex, Mathews, and nearby counties, focusing on news, agriculture, politics, literature, and advertising. A top-quality local newspaper."
