SoxProspects News
SoxProspects.com made its debut on September 20, 2003. It was established by Mike Andrews, a devoted baseball analyst and Boston resident. Mike has been tracking the Red Sox minor league system closely since 1998. Initially, the website served mainly as a platform for ranking Red Sox prospects. As the site evolved, we incorporated additional features such as a discussion forum, a news section, roster pages, a draft history database, advanced scouting protocols, a podcast, a statistics database, and more, all thanks to a dedicated team of over 20 volunteers.

A pair of top-20 prospects were the standouts on Friday as the organization had a full slate of games on the schedule. Miguel Bleis continued his excellent stretch, blasting another home run to power a Greenville victory. Salem dropped its contest despite an outstanding night from Yoeilin Cespedes (pictured). Worcester had the system's only win, with a strong Tyler Uberstine effort that got significant offensive support. Portland was, yet again, interrupted by rain.

Tuesday was a tough night for the Red Sox affiliates as the teams were 0-4 on the night while Greenville and Salem were rained out. Roman Anthony, Nate Eaton, and Nathan Hickey homered for the WooSox but the pitching staff was hit hard in a bullpen game. Blake Wehunt (pictured) struck out nine batters in a strong start for the Sea Dogs but the lineup was unable to provide him with any run support outside of a two-run homer by Blaze Jordan.

There was plenty of action down on the farm beyond Marcelo Mayer searching in vain for his car keys. While the 2021 first-round pick made his way to Boston, every affiliate in action picked up a win, with the only loss coming in the nightcap of Worcester's doubleheader. Jhostynxon Garcia (pictured) had five hits across the twinbill for the WooSox. Connelly Early and Brandon Clarke continued their outstanding seasons with strong outings to lead Portland and Greenville.

All five affiliates were able to get at least one contest in on Friday as teams in the northeast continue to navigate the ongoing wet weather. Worcester was scheduled for a doubleheader but played only the opener, with usual suspects Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer, and Jhostynxon Garcia leading the way. Portland received outstanding pitching from David Sandlin and a returning Isaac Coffey in a shtout victory.
