Minor League Baseball consists of a series of professional baseball leagues across the Americas that function below Major League Baseball (MLB). These leagues play a key role in player development, helping athletes get ready for the major leagues. Each minor league operates as an independent entity, with many of them affiliated with the larger organization called Minor League Baseball (MiLB), which is overseen by the Commissioner of Baseball. Additionally, there are certain leagues, referred to as independent baseball leagues, that operate without any official connection to Major League Baseball.
