We are so back. It's hard to believe that it's been almost a month since Michigan State let go of Alan Haller and appointed Tom Izzo as the interim co-athletic director to fill that role until a replacement was found. Well, it looks like Michigan State has officially found its guy.

Michigan State basketball is on the brink of its 22nd first-round NBA draft selection. Freshman sensation Jase Richardson will be hoping to hear his name called early in June's NBA Draft. Richardson's projections have been all over the table, from the lottery to the late first round. It's tough to really predict where Jase will end up, but one thing is for sure: he's got the opportunity to add his name to a very historic list of first-round draft picks.

And just like that, the Michigan State basketball roster may officially be set following a major development in the transfer portal. After weeks of recruiting him, Tom Izzo landed Miami guard transfer Divine Ugochukwu on Sunday afternoon over other potential suitors Texas Tech and USC. Ugochukwu was a three-star recruit out of high school and committed to Jim Larranaga before he stepped down suddenly midway through the 2024-25 season.

"Spartan Dawgs for Life" is a phrase that seems to be losing its luster. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of great and important Spartan Dawgs. Darien Harris is a great example of one. He's still one and continued to do everything he can to help his alma mater as an assistant athletic director in charge of NIL strategy. I bring Harris up because he got a little heated with some Spartan fans on social media, who didn't like seeing one of the newest Spartans to hit the transfer portal.

Five-star combo guard Darius Adams decommitted from UConn over the weekend which may not have seemed like a Michigan State basketball storyline, but it actually was. The Spartans finished second in Adams' recruitment before he picked UConn and Tennessee was also in the running. However, the Vols just added a late addition to their 2025 class in five-star power forward Nick Ament, so I'd have to look at their scholarship numbers to see if they even have room for Adams.
