Sgt. Greville Clarke was convicted Tuesday by an enlisted panel at his Fort Cavazos court martial of 29 charges for crimes against five women in 2021 and 2022.

    The Army is cutting certified athletic trainers from the fitness training teams across the service, Army Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Jim Mingus said Tuesday, replacing them with strength coaches. But regular medics might get extra training to deal with fitness-related injuries when the trainers are gone. The overall goal, he said, was a fitter, stronger Army. “We will not have arrived until we have a no-neck Army,” Mingus joked.

    The Army announced two major changes to its fitness standards Monday: soldiers in 21 combat jobs will have to pass a gender-neutral test, while the standing power throw — occasionally called the ‘yeet’ event — will be thrown out for all soldiers. Sheyla Baez Ramirez was suspended as garrison commander of Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, on April 18, according to a statement from the U.S. Army Reserve. “This suspension is not related to any misconduct,” Monday’s statement reads. “The Army Reserve has no further details to provide.”Fort McCoy has an identical statement posted on its website.
