A King County Superior Court judge on Monday denied a request to overturn the sale of the former headquarters of the Seattle Black Firefighters Association, which has been at the center of a bitter legal battle dividing active and retired members for more than three years. A man who fled from Thurston County sheriff’s deputies after reportedly shooting at them with an assault rifle was arrested Tuesday near the Nevada-California border. The 27-year-old fugitive, Damien Madison, led Thurston County sheriff’s deputies on a car chase on Thursday, when he allegedly threw objects at a patrol vehicle and shot at deputies. A manhunt ensued after deputies caught up with the car, but Madison was not found in the passenger seat. The driver was arrested.
