The Ada News
The Ada News is a daily newspaper that serves the community of Ada, Oklahoma, and is published five days a week. It covers news in Pontotoc County and parts of Coal, Garvin, Hughes, Johnston, Murray, and Seminole Counties. The newspaper is available from Tuesday to Friday and also on Sundays. In 1995, The Ada News was sold by The Thomson Corporation along with 11 other newspapers to the American Publishing Company, which later became known as Hollinger International. In 1999, Hollinger divested most of its smaller papers, leading to The Ada News being acquired by Community Newspaper Holdings. Today, The Ada News is part of Community Newspaper Holdings Inc., a company established in 1997 by Ralph Martin. CNHI operates a collection of newspapers that work together to offer advertising packages and sometimes includes editorial content from a regional reporter employed by CNHI.

Ada Main Street’s Under the Umbrellas, a gathering in Central Park featuring artists, live music, poetry and more, went well early, but was cut short by a perfect case of irony: rain. The event promised, “an evening of creativity and community under a kaleidoscope of hanging umbrellas,” according to Ada Main Street, and for more than an hour visitors enjoyed live music, live poetry, artesian crafts, and more. kAmqFE ;FDE 27E6C e A]>][ D<:6D 52C<6?65[ 2?5 H9:=6 E96 F>3C6==2D @? 5:DA=2J :?
