The Oak Leaf is the celebrated news outlet created by students at Santa Rosa Junior College, with a legacy of continuous publication dating back to 1928. Under the guidance of instructor Anne Belden, student journalists deliver 24/7 updates on breaking news, sports, arts, entertainment, events, and more through The Oak Leaf and its associated social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Additionally, twice a year, the team publishes The Oak Leaf Magazine, which is shared with the SRJC community.

A Santa Rosa Junior College information technology employee faces a felony stalking charge after police arrested him outside of a SRJC vice president’s home March 19, police said. Rohnert Park Police arrested Jordan Mead, 47, a SRJC employee of 24 years, just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday night in front of the home of Kate Jolley, SRJC vice president of finance and administrative service and interim vice president of human resources.

A student-led protest is planned at Sonoma State University in Seawolf Plaza today at 1 p.m. while SSU administrators hold a virtual town hall meeting to discuss controversial proposed budget cuts, according to members of the group Students United to Save SSU. Protestors plan to speak out during the virtual meeting and voice their concerns over the expected cuts of all intercollegiate athletic programs as well as a number of academic majors and departments starting in the Fall 2025 semester.

Music blares from the loudspeakers as the home team walks to the locker room entrance in preparation for the runout onto the field. The cheer team gets in formation with a banner that says “We Can’t Hide Our Bear Cub Pride!” for the team to run through just in front of the doors.
