As classes start to wrap up and the school year winds to an end, The Post is also stepping into a new chapter. Thursday is our last day of daily content, and it is also our last day with this current editorial staff. Serving as editor-in-chief of this publication has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and I am so proud of all we have accomplished this year. The first major change the publication went through this academic year was the redesign of our print issue.

Graduation comes with a lot of emotions. There are feelings of joy, relief, sadness and certainly stress. For me in particular, there has been an overarching sense of disbelief: how is this all over? I can truly say I have loved college. The people I’ve met, the experience I’ve had and the lessons I have learned have truly blown all my expectations out of the park.

House Bill 36, introduced in the Ohio Legislature by Republican Reps. Brian Stewart and Phil Plummer, proposes adding nitrogen hypoxia as a method of execution, replacing oxygen intake with pure odorless and colorless nitrous gas. Plummer and Stewart were not available for comment. Although Gov. Mike DeWine said no executions will occur during his time as governor, many have expressed worries due to his term ending in 2026, according to the Associated Press.

At Ohio University, I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with many incredible faculty and staff members. OU is home to truly some of the best people who also happen to be excellent journalism professionals. However, the leader among all of these is Eddith Dashiell, more commonly known as Dr. D. After 33 years of educating, serving and loving OU students, Dr. D. will enter a new chapter of her life: retirement.
