    Before Obergefell v. Hodges, the Supreme Court case that legalized same-sex marriage, there was Baker v. Nelson. When Jack Baker and Michael McConnell became a couple, McConnell told Baker he would commit to him if they could find a way to marry. Baker later attended the University of Minnesota Law School and realized state marriage statutes did not explicitly prevent same-sex marriage. The men applied for a marriage license in Hennepin County in 1970 but were denied.

    Minnesota landlords cannot deny an emotional support animal on the basis of breed. According to the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, the landlord can only determine whether an emotional support or service animal is “dangerous or likely to cause property damage” based on the animal’s behavior rather than on stereotypes about its breed. Emotional support animals assist with emotional regulation for people with conditions like depression or anxiety.

    Prince Hamlet can’t make decisions; Donald Trump makes too many. Imagine Hamlet sitting down in the Oval Office to have one of those dreaded meetings and awkward chats with the leader of the free world. It’s hard to see a Danish prince click any better with Trump than the presidents of Ukraine or South Africa. On the other hand, Trump loves a prince as long as he is not called Harry. I bet Hamlet and Trump will hit it off as soon as the conversation turns to Denmark.

    According to Minnesota state statute, employers are required to provide employees with an earnings statement at the end of each pay period, either on paper or electronically. If statements are provided electronically, the employee must have access to an employer-owned computer during work hours to access the statements and print them out as needed. Earning statements also must be available to print or review for three years after they are issued.
