LaPorte County deputies attempted a traffic stop early Wednesday, April 22, after spotting a vehicle with a license plate violation on U.S. 20. The driver, identified as 36-year-old Hassan N. Malley of Beverly Shores, fled the scene after refusing to exit the vehicle. The pursuit moved through Indiana and into Michigan before returning to Michigan City. Officers eventually disabled one of Malley’s tires using stop sticks, and the vehicle came to a stop on I-94 near the 37-mile marker.
