An employee said a man had taken the Chevrolet Traverse for a test drive and never returned it, though the salesman did not get a copy of the man’s driver’s license, so he did not know his name.

A man accused of burglarizing That Church on The Rise in Elkhart has been given a trial date. A staff member reportedly found Zeus Bush lying on the church stage in April. The staff member said she noticed a broken window while calling police, and a K-9 unit was later able to find Bush outside. He stated that he had previously visited the church and returned for first aid supplies. The Goshen News says the kitchen had been visibly rummaged through.

A man accused of breaking into an Elkhart house appeared in court last week. Reports say a victim told police that he found a young man in his basement in January and stated that his Nintendo Switch, games and laptop were missing. Surveillance footage also found that packages had been stolen from their home. Jesus Enrique Garcia was allegedly found selling the Switch on Facebook Marketplace, and an officer met up with him before following him back to his home. Officers obtained a search warrant.

A man accused of auto theft has pleaded guilty. A salesman at JD Auto Sales reported a vehicle missing in June of 2024, stating the keys to a Ford Taurus that was in the lot were given to Jackie Rozell Lee Parker, allowing him to check the air conditioning in the car prior to purchasing. The Goshen News says while Parker was checking the car, the salesman left to get cleaning supplies, but reportedly returned to find Parker and the car gone.
