The crash occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, and involved a male motorcyclist, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of family. The driver of the Jeep, a woman, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Driver wanted in Wisconsin arrested after police chase

LaPorte County deputies attempted a traffic stop early Wednesday, April 22, after spotting a vehicle with a license plate violation on U.S. 20. The driver, identified as 36-year-old Hassan N. Malley of Beverly Shores, fled the scene after refusing to exit the vehicle. The pursuit moved through Indiana and into Michigan before returning to Michigan City. Officers eventually disabled one of Malley’s tires using stop sticks, and the vehicle came to a stop on I-94 near the 37-mile marker.
