The Star (South Africa)
The Star is a daily publication located in Gauteng, South Africa. It is part of the Independent News & Media South Africa group, which was recently taken over by the Sekunjalo Media Consortium, led by Dr. Iqbal Survé, its founder and chairman. Before this acquisition, the newspaper was owned by Independent News & Media. Notably, The Star employed three members of the renowned Bang-Bang Club, including Kevin Carter, who joined as a staff photographer in 1984. Ken Oosterbroek, who worked for the newspaper, became its chief photographer in August 1991 and later brought Joao Silva on board.
