Fox News Media’s streaming climate science channel Fox Weather will cover the start of the Atlantic hurricane season with special programming this weekend. Starting June 1, meteorologists Ian Oliver and Bryan Norcross will anchor “Hurricane HQ: Eye On The Season.” Oliver will host a three-hour special from Caddy’s Treasure Island, a restaurant that was impacted by Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene last year, while Norcross will interview National Hurricane Center Director Michael Brennan.

Fox News Media’s streaming climate channel Fox Weather has hired Michigan native Bayne Froney to serve as an on-air meteorologist. Froney joins Fox Weather from WLEX (Channel 18), the E. W. Scripps-owned NBC affiliate in Lexington. She arrives at Fox Weather on June 16, ahead of the start of the Atlantic hurricane season. Before working at WLEX, Froney was a meteorologist and multimedia journalist at Scripps-owned KXXV (Channel 25, ABC) in Waco.

DirecTV will offer bars, restaurants, hotels and other business customers access to several NASCAR races that are scheduled to stream on Amazon’s platform Prime Video, the company announced on Wednesday. The partnership makes DirecTV for Business the only pay television provider to offer the entire slate of NASCAR races scheduled this season, with the platform also distributing races that will air on Fox Sports, NBC Sports and TNT Sports throughout the year.

Stan Atkinson, a prolific television news anchor who brought the world to Northern California’s living rooms, died during the Memorial Day weekend, according to his surviving sons. Atkinson was 92. The cause of death was natural. He studied journalism at Pasadena City College, then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was deployed to the front lines of the Korean War.
