The Webster Times made its debut on July 13, 1978, when its first edition was printed. Originally released once a month, this newspaper was created and shared by a small group of recent graduates from Webster College, along with a journalism professor who had just moved to the area.

A Webster Groves woman has been charged with stealing nearly $30,000 from a federal assistance program. Shanae Mooring, 34, of the first block of West Waymire in Webster, was charged May 8 with a felony for stealing $29,400 in benefits fromthe Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), according to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The program provides financial assistance to low-income individuals and families to help purchase food.
