A Webster Groves woman has been charged with stealing nearly $30,000 from a federal assistance program. Shanae Mooring, 34, of the first block of West Waymire in Webster, was charged May 8 with a felony for stealing $29,400 in benefits fromthe Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), according to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The program provides financial assistance to low-income individuals and families to help purchase food.

A Webster Groves woman has been charged by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with child abuse/neglect and assault after trying to strangle her 15-year-old daughter who takes care of other children in the home. Charges were filed against Danielle Moore, 37, of the 100 block of East Waymire Avenue in Webster Groves, after police learned she had struck and choked her 15-year-old daughter at the family’s residence.

Police have identified and put out an arrest warrant for the man who broke into Music Folk in Webster Groves last month. Shawn Overstreet, who is currently on parole for burglary and has a long history of break-ins and thefts, was charged June 10 with felonies for second-degree burglary and first-degree property damage related to the May 17 break-in at Music Folk, 8015 Big Bend Blvd. in Webster Groves, according to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
