PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police arrested a Peoria Heights man Friday night after he allegedly tried to run off after a traffic stop, carrying drugs. PPD says the suspect, 21-year-old Jyvonnie Williams, Jr., faces charges of manufacturing and delivering cannabis with intent, as well as obstructing police. Williams Jr. was taken into custody around 8:20 p.m. Friday, after a traffic stop at William Kumpf and Romeo B. Garrett Avenue.

Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says he was called to PDC Friday morning, where he and a supervisor traveled down a service trail and passed a locked vehicle barrier. There, another supervisor told Watkins an unknown suspect knocked down a ten-foot section of metal chain link fence between April 9th and 11th and gained entry into the landfill area.
