PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police arrested a Peoria Heights man Friday night after he allegedly tried to run off after a traffic stop, carrying drugs. PPD says the suspect, 21-year-old Jyvonnie Williams, Jr., faces charges of manufacturing and delivering cannabis with intent, as well as obstructing police. Williams Jr. was taken into custody around 8:20 p.m. Friday, after a traffic stop at William Kumpf and Romeo B. Garrett Avenue.

PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – An investigation is under way after damage at the Peoria Disposal Company led to runoff water going into creeks. Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says he was called to PDC Friday morning, where he and a supervisor traveled down a service trail and passed a locked vehicle barrier. There, another supervisor told Watkins an unknown suspect knocked down a ten-foot section of metal chain link fence between April 9th and 11th and gained entry into the landfill area.
