Pritzker’s wins include a $10 million increase in need-based student financial aid and passage of a direct admission program to make it easier for eligible Illinois high school and community college students to apply to public universities.

PEORIA, Ill. – A tattoo artist will remain in Peoria County custody after his arrest Tuesday on allegations of grooming a minor. The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 34-year-old Mario Davis was ordered detained at a detention hearing on Thursday. Prosecutors say police received a report from a 16-year-old on February 12th of explicit text messages sent by Davis, after the minor accepted a friend request from him on Snapchat.

PEORIA, Ill. – The future of Peoria’s Ag Lab appears to be bright. 17th District Congressman Eric Sorensen (D-Moline) announced this week funding for the lab, formally known as the National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research, is included in the fiscal year 2026 Agriculture Research Service budget. Jobs and the lab’s future were in question after the Trump administration earlier this year proposed a 10% cut in the workforce at the lab, mostly probationary workers.

PEORIA, Ill. – A man has been found guilty for an armed robbery and shooting two years ago at a Peoria apartment complex. The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 28-year-old Drakar Munoz was found guilty Thursday of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of August 15th, 2023, at the Parkwood Commons Apartment Complex.

PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria woman accused of shooting and killing her boyfriend two years ago has pleaded guilty. 20-year-old TNashia Wash pleaded guilty Thursday in the October 2023 shooting death of 30-year-old Roderick Richardson. The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says in exchange for her plea, prosecutors agreed to limit a possible prison sentence to 35 years when she is sentenced in July.
