ST PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota’s new Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Policy Committee questioned the Department of Human Services (DHS) leadership Monday about fraud on the agency’s watch. The committee, made up of five GOP members and three DFL members, is focused on a stricter approach to tackling fraud in the state. Federal agents raided the Forest Lake home of Evergreen Recovery owners Shawn Grygo and David Backus Thursday seizing evidence of lavish spending including hundreds of luxury items from Louis Vuitton, Gucci and other designer brands – allegedly paid for by a scheme to defraud Medicaid. After the raid, federal prosecutors filed a motion to revoke Grygo’s release pending trial because they found a handgun during the search.
