CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Residents enjoying their day off downtown became concerned after spotting what appeared to be a sunken vessel at McGee Beach. Viewers could see the top of the boat, along with other parts marked by a buoy. One beachgoer was concerned enough that he swam out to the vessel to ensure no one was in distress. "I don't know if there was people in distress or if people died, you know I don't know. I just went out there to check it out so far all I found was the top of the boat.

No refusal in effect Thanksgiving weekend

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The "No Refusal" initiative is now underway, and the Corpus Christi Police Department will be actively enforcing it and looking out for drunk drivers. If someone is suspected of drunk driving and they refuse a breath or blood sample, police will quickly get a blood search warrant. The 'no refusal' is in effect each day from 9:30 p.m. at night until 5:30 a.m. in the morning through Sunday.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If you plan to hit the roads this weekend, you are in luck! Fuel prices are down significantly across the board. The average cost of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.74, which is down 14-cents from last week at this time. Diesel is now at $3.55, which is down 13 cents. ROBSTOWN, Texas — Robstown police are asking for your help in identifying a man who robbed a Stripes store near the high school. It happened at the stripes on West Avenue J during the overnight hours on Nov. 3. In a Surveillance video provided by police, the suspect can be seen with his face covered by a yellow cloth. Officers said the man walked in the store with a small knife and demanded money from the clerk.

The festival will feature traditional foods, dancing, pastries and live music. It is the largest fundraiser for the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Organizers said a small number of Greek families came together over 100 years ago and ultimately founded a community that has grown tremendously.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Texas A&M- Corpus Christi students had the opportunity to demonstrate their culinary skills during a live cooking showdown known as the 'Islander Top Chef Competition." Two student teams led by university chefs were challenged to create an "Island Bowl," using locally sourced ingredients. Students showcased their unique cooking styles while competing under the clock. This is the second year TAMU-CC has held this event, and this year Food Network star Jet Tila was emcee.
