MT. VERNON, Ill. (WSIL) — Mt. Vernon officials have issued a boil order for residents on Southbrook Drive. Officials say this could affect hospitals, nursing homes, factories and schools in the area. That order was issued around 2 p.m. Monday, June 2nd. Officials expect it to last until 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 4th. Residents in the affected area are advised to bring water to a boil for at least two minutes before drinking or using it to prepare food.

SALINE COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) — The Saline County Sheriff's Office recovered multiple stolen off-road vehicles on Monday. The coordinated efforts involved several agencies and led to the capture of suspects linked to the thefts. The first was a stolen ATV from rural Galatia. Saline County Deputy Kenny Shires recovered the vehicle with help from the Canadian National Railroad.

PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) — The Paducah-McCracken Co. Joint Sewer Agency is conducting emergency repairs on a sinkhole today along westbound U.S. 60 and Jackson Street. Officials say a sinkhole has developed in the middle turn lane between South 26th Street and South 28th Street. Crews are expected to work in the area from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drivers will be directed to the bike lane between South 27th and South 28th streets during that time. Delays are possible while crews are in the area.
