DU QUOIN, Ill. (WSIL) — A food drive will take place Friday, April 18th, to support relief efforts for those impacted by the tornado outbreak of March 14th. Officials say this is all thanks to a $15,000 grant given to the District 1-CS Lions of Illinois by the Lions Clubs International Foundation's Disaster Relief Initiative. District 1-CS Lions of Illinois, the Du Quoin Lions Club, and members from across Illinois will join to distribute 400 boxes of food for Perry County residents.

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (WSIL) — A Paducah man faces several charges after police say they observed him driving at high speeds. On Monday, April 14th, the McCracken County Sheriff's Office received a report of a reckless driver. A deputy saw the driver, 32-year-old Cody Draffen, driving 25 miles over the speed limit on Clark Line Road and Houser Road. The deputy then tried to catch up to Draffen, but was unsuccessful as he lost sight of the vehicle.

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. (WSIL) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says an intersection was temporarily closed for several hours after a crash. Officials say the crash happened around midnight at Union Hill and KY 1824 intersection. Officials have yet to state what caused the crash, yet KYTC says it caused damage to a light pole and power lines. The intersection was shut down for around three hours while crews fixed the damage. The intersection was reopened by around 3 a.m.

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (WSIL) — A Calloway County man faces various charges after fleeing from deputies. At approximately 10 a.m. on Thursday, the Calloway County Sheriff's Office tried to serve an arrest warrant on 42-year-old Billy Reed in Dexter. Deputies say while serving the warrant, Reed fled the scene in a vehicle. The sheriff's office says this led to a high-speed pursuit that lasted several miles.
Semi-truck crash blocks portion of I-24

LYON COUNTY, Ky. (WSIL) — A semi-truck crash has caused a portion of I-24 to close. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says both westbound lanes are blocked off on I-24 near mile marker 39. Officials say this is to clean debris from a semi-truck crash. KYTC says a detour is in place at exit 40 on I-24 at Eddyville/Kuttawa. Drivers will take U.S. 62 W and KY 453 N, leading them back to I-24 exit 31 at Grand Rivers. There's still no word on what caused the crash.
